James River Catfishing Charters - Richmond, Virginia

Freshwater fishing in the Lower James River provides opportunities for many species and many styles of fishing.  Life's Revenge Guide Service specializes in fishing for the James River's world-renowned blue catfish.  This fishery continues to improve - it's no longer a matter of "if" the James will produce a 100 lb blue catfish, but "when" will the James produce a 100 lb fish.  Will YOU be the one who catches it?

One of the underappreciated events on the James River is the annual spring Hickory and American shad migration.  Life's Revenge is one of the few guide services that offers discounted rates for shad fishing and, new for 2008, is offering Lunch Hour Shad Fishing Trips in Downtown Richmond!

Freshwater Fishing Seasonal Schedule:

March 1 - March 31
Citation blue catfish, Trophy ring perch, Catch & Release striped bass up to 40+ lbs

March 22 - May 31
Hickory shad, American shad, Catch & Release striped bass, Blue catfish, White perch, Largemouth bass (downtown Richmond)
 
May 10 - Sept 15
Blue catfish (night fishing)
 
October 1 - February 28
Blue catfish

 

Freshwater Fishing Rates: 

18ft Privateer (1-4 person capacity) half day (4 hrs) trip

  • 1-3 people = $200

18ft Privateer (1-4 person capacity) full day (7 hrs) trip

  • 1-3 people = $350

24ft Boston Whaler (1-4 person capacity) full day (7 hrs) day trip

  • 1-4 people = $450
  • Additional charge of $100 per person over 4 anglers

 

Rates include all bait and tackle for up to 4 anglers.   

Ask about our 10% discount for senior citizens, active military, and veterans.

Bring your favorite beverages and snacks.  Always drink responsibly!

    Mike, just a note to thank you for the exciting fishing trip that we had on Monday night. I have been on a number of guided trips and this was among the very best. Mark and I especially appreciate the attention that you gave to Daniel . He will remember catching the big catfish for a long time. We look forward to scheduling another night fishing trip. We also want to schedule a trip for striper fishing in the late fall.

    Hi Mike , Yeah little tired still , but charged up at the same time , I really needed too get away and recharge and that fishing trip did the trick! However it will only last a short time . It's always hard to leave, especially when the fish are biting and I know I'm on a Time deadline . I really appreciate you fishing longer and I know Doug really liked it also. That's what sets aside really good Fishing Guides and the other guys. I was very impressed by your knowledge and dedication , have to say Mike, most guides would have thrown the towel in. Doug and I were very happy too see how you handled the unfortunate problems that you faced , Well done ! As we driving home and we were not even out of richmond area Doug and I agreed that We WOULD fish with you again in a heartbeat , and not even have too think about it! So Hell yeah count Us in on the Big cat Tournament , That would be an honor . Maybe we can book a couple of days too do some saltwater fishing also , you can bet I'LL bring some tackle too try out some of those striped bass in the early morning , I really enjoy top water fishin' , watching fish explode on the surface on a plug is the best ! You know mike they say when saltwater gets in your veins , That you'll never be the same fisherman ever again ! There's just something about saltwater fish that drive me insane , they fight harder and you never know what you'll catch , it's my one of my favorite places in the world to be ! I know Doug will be charged up at the chance to fish a tournament with you . If you see Chris Eberwine Tell him thanks for not calling me back , I know now that I made the best decision ,by deciding to fish with you !!!
